Licorice - The Wonder Candy!

You can feel good about eating licorice if you are watching your weight or if you want to eat healthy.

Ingredients in your standard RedVines licorice- The first three ingredients are Corn Syrup, Wheat Flour, and Molasses. 40g is just 140 calories (one and a half pieces of bread), zero fat, low sugar compared to total carbs.

Moderation is key of course.

You will find similarly healthy snacks in the sour punch straws and some other gummy products. I always look for candy that has a low sugar content compared to total carbs. This means that the food will be lower on the Glycemic Index and will serve more as "food".
